Taman Miharja Care Distribution
The Community Care Drives at MRLC represent the physical manifestation of the center’s mission, transforming the surrounding Taman Miharja area into a landscape of active service. By extending their mandate beyond the classroom, MRLC fosters a deep sense of communal responsibility and neighborly solidarity. These large-scale outreach events do more than just distribute essential goods; they serve as a powerful bridge between the refugee community and the wider neighborhood. Through these drives, the staff and volunteers demonstrate Christ’s love in a tangible way, addressing the immediate physical hardships of those nearby while breaking down social barriers and building a foundation of mutual respect and compassion.
Furthermore, these initiatives provide a unique “living classroom” for MRLC’s older students, who participate as active leaders in the mobilization effort. Engaging in these drives allows refugee youth to shift from being recipients of aid to becoming agents of change, reinforcing their sense of agency and purpose. This hands-on experience in community service cultivates empathy and leadership, teaching them that regardless of their own challenges, they possess the capacity to uplift others. By integrating the students into the heart of these outreach efforts, MRLC ensures that its impact is two-fold: providing vital relief to the vulnerable families in Taman Miharja while shaping a generation of young leaders committed to a lifetime of service and social restoration.

Faith in Action
These outreach events are highly practical ways for our students to put the values they learn in the classroom—like compassion and service—into immediate action. Working alongside adult mentors, our youths learn the profound joy of giving back, regardless of how little they may have themselves.
By engaging with our surrounding community in such a tangible way, we break down social barriers and build a neighborhood network of mutual respect and care. It is a powerful reminder to everyone involved that no one is forgotten, and that we are all responsible for lifting each other up.
When our students serve the community, they transition from being recipients of charity to becoming active agents of hope.

How Your Help is Needed
Community outreach is a massive team effort. When a drive is announced on our Events page, we need all hands on deck! You can participate by donating bulk essential goods, sponsoring the cost of care packages, or simply showing up on the day to help pack and distribute items with a smile.
